Livestock Sales & Care Policy
Beautiful Moments Farm
Last updated: October 23, 2026
A new animal brings plenty of excitement, a little extra hay, and a whole new personality to get to know. We want that new beginning to be a thoughtful, happy one—for you and your animal.
Please read our policies before reserving or purchasing. Ask questions, take your time, and come prepared. We’re happy to help!
Our Animals & the Heart Behind Our Farm
Every animal has a story, and sometimes a new chapter begins because life changes.
Many animals come to us from owners whose circumstances have shifted. Children grow up or move on from animal projects, families want to travel more, properties are sold, and people find that their time, space, or ability to care for animals has changed. Finding a new home can be an emotional decision, and we approach those situations with kindness and respect.
We offer animals raised here on our farm and animals from farms, private breeders, and individual owners throughout the United States. We own each animal offered for sale or have the owner’s authorization to complete the sale.
Our mission is to help animals find prepared, caring homes while reducing the need for owners to turn to sale barns.
Livestock markets bring animals from different locations together. That mixing, along with shared pens, trailers, and equipment, can create opportunities for disease to spread. Busy, unfamiliar surroundings and repeated transportation can also make transitions more difficult for animals.
Conditions and practices vary among sale barns. Our goal is to offer another path: one where prospective buyers can ask questions, learn about the animal, and prepare for its needs. We hope to reduce the chance of animals entering unsuitable homes or ending up in the slaughter pipeline, including situations commonly called “kill pens.”
We cannot promise every outcome, but we can keep working toward thoughtful placements. To us, the next home matters.
Respecting Previous Owners’ Privacy
We do not share previous owners’ contact information or private personal details with prospective buyers or customers. That includes names, phone numbers, addresses, social media accounts, and identifying details about their personal circumstances.
Please direct questions to us rather than requesting contact with a previous owner. We are happy to share relevant information about the animal that is available to us while protecting the privacy of the people involved.
Any disclosure required by law or necessary official ownership, registration, or animal-health paperwork is handled separately. Our privacy policy does not mean withholding material information about an animal’s condition or history.
Kindness matters on both sides of a new beginning.
Research First. Fall in Love Responsibly.
We understand—a fluffy face can be very persuasive. Unfortunately, that fluffy face will not build its own fence.
Every buyer is expected to thoroughly research an animal’s needs before committing to ownership. Please understand:
Appropriate feeding and ongoing care costs.
Expected adult size, lifespan, and space requirements.
Safe fencing, shelter, and companionship needs.
Typical behavior and handling requirements.
Routine veterinary care and access to a veterinarian who treats that species.
Applicable ownership rules, permits, and transportation requirements.
Consider your property, schedule, experience, and budget over the animal’s lifetime—not just pickup day.
Questions are encouraged. Preparation is essential. Our guidance supports your research; it does not replace it. Buyers are responsible for having suitable accommodations and a care plan ready before bringing an animal home.
Personality, Handling & Settling In
Our descriptions of temperament, personality, and handling reflect what we have personally observed while an animal is in our care.
Animals may behave differently with new surroundings, companions, routines, and people. Some settle in quickly; others need time, patience, and consistent handling. Even the friendliest animal may need a moment to decide what it thinks of the new management.
Descriptions are not guarantees of future behavior, temperament, or suitability for a particular home or purpose. Please tell us about your experience and expectations before purchasing.
Availability & Optional Deposits
Animals are available on a first-come, first-served basis unless reserved with an accepted deposit. Animals can sell quickly, and an inquiry or expression of interest does not secure one.
You do not have to place a deposit to purchase an animal that is still available. However, a deposit is needed to reserve an animal for a future pickup.
Deposits count toward the total purchase price and are nonrefundable, subject to the farm-cancellation policy below and applicable law.
Once we accept your deposit, we can hold your animal for up to five days, unless we agree otherwise. Please confirm the reservation and pickup arrangements with us before sending payment.
If We Cannot Complete Your Sale
When we accept a deposit, we commit to reserving that animal for you under the agreed terms.
If Beautiful Moments Farm cannot provide your reserved animal, we will refund your deposit. If you prefer, and another suitable animal is available, you may choose to apply your deposit toward that animal instead.
The choice is yours. We will not transfer your deposit to a different animal without your agreement. Any difference in purchase price will be discussed and agreed upon before moving forward.
This exception applies when we cannot provide the animal. It does not change the nonrefundable deposit policy when a buyer changes their mind or cannot complete the purchase, except as required by applicable law.
Appointments & Respecting Your Drive
An appointment without a deposit does not reserve an animal during the days leading up to your visit.
For example, if you schedule a Wednesday pickup without a deposit and another buyer is ready to purchase and collect the animal on Tuesday, we may proceed with Tuesday’s sale.
That said, we respect your time—and your fuel tank.
Once we confirm that you are on your way for an agreed pickup appointment, we will hold the animal while you travel to us.
We will let you know if the animal becomes unavailable before your visit. Please confirm availability with us before leaving and tell us when you are headed our way.
Pickup Deadlines
Animals reserved with a deposit must be picked up within five days of the deposit being accepted, unless another arrangement has been agreed upon.
Need more time? Please discuss it with us before reserving. Extended holds must be agreed upon and are not automatic.
If your plans change, contact us promptly. Your purchase price, payments, balance, payment deadline, and pickup or delivery arrangements will be documented in your sale paperwork.
Safe Pickup Starts Before You Leave Home
Your animal’s trip home is an important part of its new beginning. Please arrive with transportation appropriate for the animal’s species, size, age, and needs.
Trailers, crates, or carriers must be secure, appropriately ventilated, and free from sharp edges or other hazards. Provide suitable footing, enough space, and protection from weather. Doors, gates, and latches must close securely to prevent escape.
Not sure what to bring? Please ask us before heading over! Tell us which animal you’re picking up and what you plan to use for transportation. Photos of your setup are welcome—we’re happy to discuss it with you.
A little planning beats a driveway game of “Will this work?”
For everyone’s safety, please follow our instructions during loading and keep children and other visitors clear of the loading area.
We may postpone loading or release of an animal if the transportation setup is unsafe or unsuitable. Pickup can proceed once appropriate transportation is arranged. If this affects your pickup deadline, an extension must be discussed and agreed upon.
These expectations also apply to anyone collecting an animal on your behalf. Please share them with your transporter before pickup.
We want you to leave feeling prepared and your animal to arrive home safely. When in doubt, reach out!
What “Exposed” Actually Means
Exposed does not mean confirmed pregnant.
It means a female has been with an intact male of breeding age of the same species and may have had the opportunity to breed.
Unless we specifically state that pregnancy has been confirmed, we do not know whether she is pregnant. Exposure alone does not establish pregnancy, a due date, or the likelihood of a baby.
An animal described only as exposed is sold without a pregnancy guarantee. Please make your purchase based on the animal herself, not an assumed baby on the way.
If pregnancy has been confirmed, we will identify it as confirmed and share the confirmation information available to us. Any specific written commitments belong in the individual purchase agreement.
Ask Questions & Meet the Animal
You are welcome to inspect an animal before purchasing and have a representative of your choice help you evaluate it.
Please ask about anything important to your decision, including handling, background, care needs, and available records. We would much rather answer a question before pickup than discover an unexpected concern afterward.
Our signed buyer agreement confirms that you have had the opportunity to inspect the animal and have either completed your desired inspection or voluntarily chosen not to inspect. Acceptance of the animal’s condition at transfer remains subject to express written commitments and applicable legal rights.
Animal Condition & Final Sales
To the fullest extent permitted by law, animals are sold “AS IS” and “WITH ALL FAULTS.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
This does not excuse inaccurate descriptions or misrepresentations, override express written commitments, or exclude rights that cannot legally be waived.
All completed sales are final. No refunds, returns, or exchanges, except as required by applicable law. Deposits for animals we cannot provide are handled under the farm-cancellation policy above.
A change of mind, adjustment difficulties, temperament concerns, incompatibility with other animals, or changes in personal circumstances do not create a contractual right to a refund, return, or exchange.
Please take the time to research, ask questions, and feel ready before completing your purchase.
Transportation & Transfer of Responsibility
If you pick up or use your own transporter: Your responsibility begins when the animal leaves our property in your custody or in the custody of a transporter acting on your behalf.
If we provide transportation: Beautiful Moments Farm remains responsible during transportation performed by us or our employees until the animal is delivered and physically handed over to you or your designated recipient.
After the applicable handoff, you are responsible for transportation, safe containment, handling, care, and associated costs and risks, including delays, escape, injury, illness, or death, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Our signed agreement includes a release of claims arising from subsequent transportation, care, handling, or possession, including injury, loss, property damage, and related expenses. It does not release responsibility for our conduct before the applicable transfer or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Let’s Talk Feeding & Daily Routines
Not sure what your animal eats, when it eats, or what its daily care looks like? Please ask!
Before pickup, we’re happy to explain the feed and schedule your animal is accustomed to, its housing and companions, and the handling routines we have used. We can also share available care information and records.
Animals tend to appreciate familiar routines—especially when breakfast is involved.
Buyers are responsible for appropriate food, clean water, shelter, secure fencing or housing, suitable space, humane handling, veterinary care, and applicable permits or transportation requirements. Please allow reasonable time and suitable conditions for your animal to settle in.
You’re Always Welcome to Reach Out
You do not need to have purchased an animal from us to ask a care question.
Whether you are preparing for your first animal or learning something new with an animal you have owned for years, we’re happy to share our knowledge.
Please never feel embarrassed about asking. Everyone starts somewhere, and thoughtful questions are part of responsible animal ownership.
We may not have every answer, but we’re glad to share what we know and point you toward additional help when needed. Medical concerns should be directed to your veterinarian.
Making It Official: Your Bill of Sale
Every purchase includes an Animal Bill of Sale & Buyer Agreement, signed by both the buyer and Beautiful Moments Farm.
This document records which animal you are purchasing, the purchase price, payments and remaining balance, and the agreed pickup or delivery arrangements. It also explains the sale terms, any specific written commitments, and when responsibility for the animal transfers to you.
It helps protect both parties by putting the details in writing. You have a record of what you purchased and what we agreed to provide, and we have a record of the buyer’s agreed responsibilities.
Clear expectations help prevent misunderstandings and give everyone something to refer back to—because remembering every detail shouldn’t be another farm chore!
Please read the agreement carefully before signing. We’re happy to explain anything you’re unsure about. Both parties will sign, and you should keep a completed copy for your records.
Our sales policies are publicly available on this website for review before reserving or purchasing. Please read them and ask questions before sending a deposit. The signed bill of sale and buyer agreement records the full terms of your individual transaction.
